A 15-year-old boy is stabbed after a long-standing dispute between two teens.

According to Lansing Police, the boy was stabbed on the basketball court of Averill Elementary School in Lansing Tuesday evening.

A 16-year-old male suspect learned that the victim was playing basketball with friends at the outdoor basketball court, police said. The suspect went to the basketball court and a fight broke out. Police said the suspect then used a knife to stab the 15-year-old twice in the torso.

The victim was taken taken to his home by a friend, and then transported to a local hospital by his father with life threatening wounds. After surgery was performed, the victim is in serious, but stable condition, police said.

The stabbing suspect has been arrested. He is being housed at youth home and awaiting a hearing Wednesday.

The incident happened after school hours, and the school is not involved.

We should have left God and the ten commandments in our schools.

This is what you get when the movies and music promote violence. Teens look up to Gangs of Criminals, and want to be just like them. Life no longer means anything. This monster will get put in a boys reformatory until hes 21 and be able to go out and instead of injuring someone, kill them. How very special.

Why would an elementary school be responsible for teenagers? 15 & 16 year olds usually don't attend elementary school. If the accident happens on the side walk, does that make the city accountable? If it happens on an Interstate does that make the US Government accountable. Not sure when location dictated who is held accountable. Accountability is that of someones actions. Sounds like a 16 is accountable.
