State police say a hit-and-run driver struck and killed two male pedestrians on Interstate 75 north of Detroit.

State police tell TV stations WXYZ and WDIV, The Detroit News and the Detroit Free Press the accident happened about 2 a.m. Sunday in Hazel Park on the expressway's northbound side.

Authorities say the pedestrians were in their mid-20s. They say one died at the scene and the other at a hospital. Their names are being withheld until families are notified.

Police are seeking the driver.

The Associated Press left a message with state police seeking comment.

We get great coverage about incidents that happen in Detroit, but there is limited (newspaper) coverage about the closure on M-60 and the fatality.
