The owners of the pit bulls that attacked a six-year old Jackson girl are expected in court in just a couple of hours.

Brian Nace and his girlfriend Jasmine Bailey are facing felony charges, after their three pit bulls viciously mauled their neighbor, Tyah Norris, in Blackman Township last month.

She needed 500 stitches and missed the first day of school Tuesday.

If convicted, the owners face up to four years in prison, a fine, and community service.

I am a pitbull advocate, and I'm very happy to see that there is a possibility of prison for these people. These dogs would have never attacked that child with proper training and discipline. You can't just get a dog and NOT work with it. These dogs are good, loyal dogs; but in the hands of an imbecile, can be deadly. I hope both of these people get the maximum penalty allowed.

They should put the dog in the cell with him and let him live in fear for four years.
