Police seeking a suspect in a shooting outside a Detroit high school have fatally shot a man they say refused to drop his weapon.
The officers were investigating the wounding of a 14-year-old girl and 16-year-old boy who'd just finished the first day of classes Tuesday at Mumford High School.
As police searched for a suspect, they say they encountered an armed man at an apartment building and fatally shot him when he refused to lower the weapon.
He isn't believed to be linked to the earlier shootings.
The wounded teens are expected to recover.
