The Monroe County sheriff's office says divers have recovered the body of a Detroit-area man from a lagoon off Lake Erie.
The sheriff's department says Harallamb Tasi's body was found around 11:15 p.m. Monday in eight feet of water.
Authorities received a 911 call three-and-a-half hours earlier about a missing boater in a small lagoon off Lake Erie commonly known as the "Hot Hole."
The sheriff's office says Tasi went to retrieve a football he was throwing with his friends when he went under the water and never came up.
The 24-year-old Westland man's body has been sent to the medical examiner's office for an autopsy.
