Michigan GOP lieutenant governor candidate Brian Calley is telling Tea Party activists he hopes to earn their trust even as one Tea Party group prepares to challenge him at Saturday's state convention.
Cheboygan County Republican Dennis Lennox says the Tea Party of West Michigan plans to nominate unsuccessful congressional candidate Bill Cooper for lieutenant governor.
GOP gubernatorial candidate Rick Snyder announced state Rep. Calley as his running mate Wednesday. Usually such a pick never faces a convention challenge, but Tea Party supporters have vowed to flex their muscle at the convention.
Calley told the Tea Party Caucus Friday evening that he's "thrilled" so many new people are involved in the GOP, adding: "you've already made a difference."

NO politician should be smiling and playing the usually game. If he is looking at the real numbers, then he should be on the side of the majority.
