Posted: 10/05/2012 - The fungal meningitis outbreak reaches Michigan. The state health department is confirming six cases in Michigan-- which is among 49 cases in seven states. Five people have died. While this form of meningitis is not contagious, it's not unrealistic that there could be dozens if not hundreds of cases in Michigan once everyone is diagnosed. It is estimates that nationwide thousands could be infected.
