State, Insurance Companies React to President's Proposal

The state and health insurance company say a lot has to be done to understand the changes President Obama has proposed to the Affordable Care Act.

At a press conference Thursday, the president said he would allow insurers to extend policies they had previously canceled by at least a year.

Both the Department of Insurance and Financial Services and Blue Cross Blue Shield of Michigan say they need to analyze and review the president's words.
