CDC: Swine Flu Statistics "Sobering"

WASHINGTON -- The swine flu is causing an unprecedented amount of illness for so early in the fall -- and federal health officials said Friday that 11 more children have died in the past week.
The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention says about half of the child deaths since September have been among teenagers.
And overall for the country, deaths from pneumonia and flu-like illnesses have passed what CDC considers an epidemic level. About 6 percent of all doctor visits are for flu-like illnesses, levels not normally seen until later in the fall.
The CDC's Dr. Anne Schuchat (SHU'-kit) says, "These are very sobering statistics."

Regarding the vaccine...the studies do support that it is immunogenic i.e. can generate an immune resonse, but I cannot find any data that "proves" it prevents H1N1 or decreases the severity of illness.

Only one word comes to mind.Pestilence.Many have came and many more will.I trust what the bible says more than I could ever begin to trust our Government. Many things will happen,we can't stop them.Weather is already getting worse and more storms will take tolls we have never seen before. The gov knows it,but what are they doing about it.We are to busy fighting wars, when if we weren't that money could be put to better use for many things.Katrina victims have not yet been taken care of.It is sad government ones are so wrapped up in themselves. While one country after another suffers over the way govs are.Prophecies said so many things would happen. We can't continue to do wrong things and expect rewards for it.We do reap what we sow.Government turned their backs on God a long time ago,and many have been mislead, and have no clue what they do is wrong.Even some churches mislead.People continue to turn away from the truth. The evil one is so pleased. It will all work out in the end.Pray.

It is difficult as a parent to hear how necessary the vaccine is for your children, when it is not available. This is especially disheartening considering that cases are already being confirmed in the schools.
