A button designed to help save a person's life could put them in the hospital.
We're talking about the Philips Lifeline Medical Alert pendant--- used to summon help in case of an emergency.
The FDA says the cord attached to the button could get tangled with other objects or equipment like wheelchairs, walkers or guardrails--- and cause serious injury or death.
The FDA recommends users check with their health care provider to see which type of button, including one on a wrist strap, may be best.
