The American Dietetic Association’s Food & Nutrition Conference & Expo takes place this October in Chicago. It’s the world’s largest gathering of food and nutrition professionals to discuss key issues affecting the health of America. Here’s a sneak peek at what industry insiders will be talking about:
One area they’ll be discussing is making good food choices, from portion control to the difference between good fats, like mono and polyunsaturated fats, and bad fats, such as saturated and trans fats.
ADA partner PepsiCo will sponsor a presentation called “The Green Diet,” which talks about the importance of manufacturing food in a responsible manner that reduces environmental impact.
And the Foodservice Institute of America asks, “Is Your Kitchen Geared for the Future?” They’ll discuss how “going green” helps conserve resources like water, choosing the right cookware and the best ways to increase trash recycling.
