Lansing Police are investigating a morning shooting on the 3100 block of Glenbrook.
At about 10 a.m., an officer in the area heard gunshots.
Upon arrival, the officer found broken glass, possibly from a vehicle's window.
Shortly afterward, a local hospital calls to say they have a 43-year-old woman who has a gunshot wound in her left thigh. Her injury is not life threatening.
The woman tells police that she and her 22-year-old son were dropping off a relative on Glenbrook.
She says as her son was getting back into the car, she heard gunshots and felt a pain in her leg, due to a bullet coming through the car's door.
She also says that her son then drove the car and took her to the hospital.
The son tells police that as he was getting back into the car, he saw two men in hoodies nearby, and that one fired a gun as he jumped into the car.
The son also says the two men then jumped into a silver vehicle, possibly a Malibu.
Police do not believe this was a random shooting, and that the son was the intended target.
The shooting is still under investigation.
