YPSILANTI TOWNSHIP, Mich. (AP) -- An official says thousands of butane canisters, an assault rifle and bags of marijuana were found at a home that exploded in Michigan.
Police say the home destroyed Sunday in Washtenaw County County's Ypsilanti Township, east of Ann Arbor, was part of a marijuana trafficking investigation that included four Michigan counties.
Authorities say three people survived the explosion. Township Fire Marshal Vic Chevrette tells AnnArbor.com investigators discovered hundreds of boxes containing 15-ounce canisters of butane, which is being investigated as a possible cause of the explosion.He says the rifle, drugs and a pit bull were found.
State police say they're working on the 7-month investigation with others. They say they executed 25 search warrants Monday and seized more than $221,000 in cash, 736 marijuana plants and eight guns.
