West Michigan authorities say they've charged two men with first-degree murder in the death of a longtime Grand Valley State University student adviser whose body was found at a home last month.
Grand Rapids police and an FBI task force arrested the 24-year-old Grand Rapids residents Timothy J. Miller and Maceo L. Scott on Tuesday in the death of 50-year-old Santiago Zapata, whose body was found Sept. 25.
Police say the suspects were being arraigned Thursday on first-degree felony murder and armed robbery charges. It wasn't immediately known if they have lawyers.
Grand Valley State University says Zapata was a 19-year employee with its education college.
The Grand Rapids Press says Zapata was the first of 10 children in a migrant family to attend college.
