JACKSON CO., PARMA - A tractor driver survives a collision with a passenger train in Parma Friday. At about 1:45pm, the man was driving over a private railroad crossing near McLain Street on the north end of Parma. The sheriff's office says this was a large tractor with an enclosed cab, and the man did not see or hear the train coming. The westbound Amtrak train struck the front of the tractor, spinning it around. The man inside was not injured, nor was anyone on the train. The train was delayed for a little more than an hour, while inspectors were called to make sure there was no damage to the train. The train resumed its trip at about 3 o'clock.
