The Michigan State Police are adding new technologies to the force--helping troopers do their job better and faster.

A new mapping technology called AVL for Automatic Vehicle Locator gives Ingham County Dispatch up-to-the-minute information on what troopers are doing and where they are located. When people call 911, dispatch instantly knows which trooper can could get there the fastest.

It's a new technology the MSP is working to integrate in Eaton and Clinton counties.
