Surveillance Photos of First Merit Bank Robbery Released

The Lansing Township Police Department is investigating a bank robbery at the First Merit Bank, located at 2017 Lake Lansing Road.

Lansing Township Police responded to a bank robbery at the First Merit Bank, just before 5 p.m. on Thursday afternoon. Witnesses told officers that a black male entered the bank, showed off a handgun, and demanded money from the employees. After receiving an undetermined amount of money from bank employees, the suspect fled south on Wood Road.

A Michigan State University Police K-9 assisted with a track that ended south of Lake Lansing, on Wood Road.

Surveillance cameras captured images of the suspect at the time of the robbery. He is described as a black male, 6'1"/160 pounds wearing a blackmask over his face, a blue and white jacket with teal colored sleeves, blue jeans, and brown boots.
