LANSING, Mich. (AP) -- A union activist is seeking a court order to stop a state review team examining the city of Detroit's finances from meeting in private.
The suit filed Wednesday in an Ingham County court says the review team has violated the state's Open Meetings Act by meeting in "secret."
The suit was filed by Robert Davis, a Highland Park school board member and union activist. Davis also has sued in hopes of overturning the state's appointment of an emergency manager in the Highland Park district.
Davis says he plans to urge an Ingham County judge to issue an order Thursday blocking the Detroit financial team meetings.
A spokeswoman for Gov. Rick Snyder says the review team isn't subject to the Open Meetings Act and has properly followed procedures.
