GRAND HAVEN TOWNSHIP, Mich. (AP) -- Western Michigan authorities say a small plane has crash-landed near the Grand Haven airport, injuring the pilot.
The crash happened around 1 p.m. Sunday on a road just east of the Grand Haven Memorial Airpark.
Authorities say the pilot was the only person aboard. Witnesses tell WOOD-TV that the pilot had some facial injuries and said he had neck and back pain.
The pilot says it was the first time he flew the experimental biplane.
Ottawa County sheriff deputies, Grand Haven police and city fire crews have responded to the crash site, which is in Grand Haven Township.
