A sketch of the man who impersonated a police officer to stop and rob another man has been released by the Lansing police.

The sketch is of a man described as a black male, 25 to 35 years old, short black hair, medium sized mustache and goatee and about six feet tall with a medium build. He was wearing a white jersey top with green letters and blue jeans.

His victim said he was wearing a chain around his neck with a badge attached.

34-year-old Andre Chaney of Lansing says he was traveling north on Pennsylvania near Baker Street just before 11 on Monday night. He says he noticed a car behind him with flashing red lights. Thinking it was the police, he turned onto Lindbergh Street and stopped.

Once stopped, Chaney says the suspect came up to his car, pointed a gun at him and took his wallet, cell phone and car keys. He was then told to walk away and the suspect drove away.

The suspects' car was a dark colored Chevrolet Impala, possibly a 2006 model.

Anyone who has information should call the police.
