Ingham County Animal Control is hoping a $300 reward will help catch a dog killer.
A small, black, Chihuahua-Terrier mix was recently found stuffed in a bag in the 3100 block of Reo Road in Lansing. We're told it was brutally tortured, with multiple broken bones, stab wounds and a slit throat.
The dog had white on its stomach and was wearing a red harness.
The director of the shelter is calling this one of the most disturbing cases they've investigated.
"This gruesome crime is unimaginable and the perpetrator should be punished," said Jamie McAloon-Lampman, Director of the Ingham County Shelter. "This is one of the most disturbing cases we have ever investigated. We are looking for the public to help us solve this senseless act. There is no reason to treat any animal this way. The person responsible for this act should be considered dangerous."
Please call the Ingham County Animal Shelter at 517.676.8370 or the anonymous tip line at 517.676.8376 to share any details of this crime.
