Dozens of protesters have waved signs and beat drums to protest Republican presidential candidate Mitt Romney's appearance at a mid-Michigan pie shop.
Romney is making three stops Tuesday in Michigan. Several hundred supporters listened to him and his wife Ann speak in front of the striped awning of the Sweetie-licious Bakery in downtown DeWitt.
Across the street, protesters chanted, "We are the 99 percent!" One woman held a sign proclaiming "Romney has always been a bully."
Romney supporter Imogene McNeilly of St. Johns sat in a lawn chair fanning herself in the hot sunshine. The 80-year-old says she likes the GOP candidate's policies and the fact he's from Michigan.
Another supporter held a sign bearing a soldier's photo and the words, "My dad needs a new commander in chief."
