A former Ottawa County corrections officer has pleaded guilty to criminal sexual conduct charges for his actions with two women he was guarding.
Thirty-nine-year-old Jonathan Kermeen made the plea Tuesday on the eve of his trial in circuit court. In exchange, prosecutors dropped a second charge.
Sentencing is March 10 in Grand Haven on the charge of second-degree criminal sexual conduct, which has a maximum penalty of 15 years in prison.
Kermeen admitted the three contacts involving sexual touching with two inmates last fall at the jail in West Olive. He was fired shortly after the actions came to light.
