DETROIT (AP) -- Police say a dispute between a boyfriend and girlfriend led to a high-speed crash in Detroit that killed four people and injured three others.
Police say the crash happened early Sunday on eastbound Interstate 94 on the city's east side and closed part of the expressway for five hours.
WXYZ-TV says one vehicle was chasing another on a surface street about 2:30 a.m. when one of them became airborne and crashed onto the expressway below, hitting a pickup truck.
Sgt. Michael Woody tells WWJ-AM that one person in the vehicle and all three people in the pickup died.
Woody says the male driver of one of the vehicles in the crash was hospitalized and is in police custody. The sergeant says two other people also were hospitalized.
