Phone Call Leads to Holt School Lockdown

Sycamore Elementary School in the Holt School District was locked down briefly Friday.

At about 2PM, the office received a call from an unidentified woman asking if a specific student was in class.

School staff became suspicious because the caller was not the student's mother. They feared it may have been someone asked to call by the boy's father who is not supposed to have contact with the child.

Not wanting to have a potentially "volatile situation," the doors were ordered locked for about an hour. Deputies from the Ingham County Sheriff's Delhi Division were dispatched to the school.

Nothing happened and the student's were dismissed without incident.
