One out of every four children here in Michigan are not sure if they will have enough food to eat each day. One out of six people in the United States struggles with hunger on a daily basis. In an effort to fight hunger, Panera Bread has teamed up with mid-Michigan food banks to help feed needy families.
36 people can be fed with every sale of a bowl of soup. The limited edition keepsake soup bowls are $10, and Panera will donate $4.51 of that to local food banks. Their national partner, Feeding America, helps one in eight Americans get food on the table every day. The campaign goes through March 25th. The program is also going to be conducted in Flint and Brighton.
