Dogs Taken from Suspected Dogfighting Operation Euthanized

FLINT, Mich. (AP) -- Authorities say they've euthanized all 28 dogs taken from a suspected dog-fighting operation in Flint.
Genesee County Commissioner Miles Gadola tells The Flint Journal (http://bit.ly/KMIwkx ) the animals seized on Tuesday all "needed to be euthanized due to the viciousness of those dogs."
Authorities seized the dogs, training equipment and steroids from two sites that investigators believe are connected to dog fighting on the city's north side. The sheriff's department has said one of the homes was used to breed the dogs while a second house was used to train the animals.
Sheriff Robert Pickell says he suspects the dogs were being sold for fighting. Investigators found the home after deputies heard dogs while in the area on an unrelated matter.
A person who owns both homes was in custody.
