They're the highest profile television advertisements to air all year, reaching more than 90,000,000 pairs of eyes. The expensive, usually funny commercials will mostly advertise products and movies, but Michiganders will also see a political spot.

Republican senate hopeful Pete Hoekstra is paying $75,000 for his 30 second campaign ad to air during the pre-game. The ad was created by the same producer of Governor Snyder's commercial back in 2010. It's available now for an early viewing at his campaign's website for a donation of at least $7.50. Hoekstra told us told us about his ad, which is geared toward Senator Debbie Stabenow: "Tomorrow Michigan voters will see a clear difference between my 'spend-it-not' approach and her 'spend-it-now' mentality."

Sen. Stabenow replied, "There's a competitive primary. The Superbowl is a very positive time and it's unfortunate that folks are inserting something very negative in the middle of such a big, positive American past time."

Michigan State University advertising professor Bob Kolt has already seen the ad: "It's just not Superbowl worthy." He says this new trend of campaigning during the big game could hurt more than help. "That ad would be much better aired in October when people are more tuned in to the election, but they are just not now."

But Kolt has seen most of the other Superbowl commercials as well and says there's a lot to look forward to.
