LANSING, Mich. (AP) -- The Michigan Civil Rights Commission will elect its leadership team for this year during a meeting Monday in Lansing.

The election will take place at the commission's regular business meeting.

Commission members also will hear a report on a yearlong research project examining the economic and social impacts of anti-discrimination laws in the state.

The Michigan Civil Rights Commission was created by the state Constitution in 1963 to carry out guarantees against discrimination.
