A jury has found the Lansing teen accused of murdering Shayla Johnson a year and-a-half ago guilty.
Charles Lewis, Jr., who was 13-years-old when the murder happened, was found guilty on all counts including felony murder.
The judge has not yet ruled whether Lewis, Jr. will be charged as an adult or a minor.
Lori Black, Shayla Johnson's mother, says Wednesday's verdict was a step in the right direction for the family.
"It's just one step closer to getting the justice our daughter deserves," Black said. "Not only that she needs but that she deserves."
Four others are facing felony murder charges in the case. All four accused are adults.
