LUDINGTON, Mich. (AP) -- Officials say a worker has died in a conveyor belt accident aboard a barge in Lake Michigan while heading from Muskegon to Charlevoix.
The Ludington Daily News reports the tug Undaunted and barge P.M. 41 were heading north around midday Sunday near Ludington when a call went out to the U.S. Coast Guard about the Pentwater man's death. The accident is under investigation.
The name of the man who died wasn't immediately released. The tug and barge docked Sunday afternoon in Ludington, about 80 miles northwest of Grand Rapids.
