LANSING - A young man is shot in Lansing overnight. Police were called to a Lansing hospital shortly after midnight, where a 20-year-old man from DeWitt was being treated for a gunshot wound. The man told police he was in the area of Allegan Street and Martin Luther King Jr. Blvd to meet a known acquaintance.

He was parked, when the acquaintance approached with a handgun. The man demanded marijuana from the victim and then fired several shots into the car. The victim sustained one gunshot. The wound is non-life-threatening. A witness drove the wounded man to the hospital. Police attempted to track the suspect using a dog, but the trail ended in the 1200 block of W. Michigan Ave.
