Let's get you caught up on this afternoon's two big freeway backups.

Both directions of I-96 have reopened near the Sycamore Creek on Lansing's south side.

I-96 was closed after a car went off the road and rolled into the creek between the Pennsylvania Avenue exit and the U.S. 127 interchange.

The driver was a 58-year-old man from the Kentwood area. He is expected to recover from his injuries.

Police don't know what caused the accident.
