He says he was hit on the head multiple times.
The attacker also stabbed and beat his 7-year-old pit bull to death, according to the victim.
He further says he blacked out, but recalls the attacker and another man taking electronics from his home.

OH NO not a dog. Are you kidding me? A HUMAN BEING was attacked in his own home. Regardless of the lifestyle he was into, this is concerning. Violence/crime is the issue, not the fact that beast ended up as collateral damage. No wonder this country is going to hell.

I keep saying it, but the judges just won't listen. Animal and child abusers, serial rapists, serial killers, and mass murderers CAN NOT be rehabilitated and MUST be dealt with harshly. I never used to believe in capital punishment until I started reading books by John Douglas who used to work for the FBI and helped to devise the art of criminal profiling. We need to get people like these two criminals off the street forever and away from society altogether. Their crimes will only escalate.

It sounds suspicious. Either way, it doesn't excuse the attackers behavior. The attacker obviously has no respect for any life form. I feel bad for the dog.

I agree with the fact that he knew the person and it was probably drug related, but the fact he has a pitbull has nothing to do with it. There are thousands of pitbulls that are great family dogs. I have one and I'm in no way, shape or form a bad person or criminal. Don't hate on a breed, seriously. I wouldn't hate on you for your race, and neither would the pitbull.

Shocking! He knew the man who broke in, had a pit bull....let's do the math. I'd say there's about a 95% chance he was into bad things himself!
