Many school districts across the state, and in mid-Michigan, did not meet the Adequate Yearly Progress standards.
Some of the districts that failed, such as Holt and East Lansing, normally score well on student tests.
The failures can partly be attributed to a new system the state is using, to grade the district as a whole, rather than by individual schools.
We are meeting with the Michigan Department of Education, and will have them explain this change in tonight's broadcasts.
