A Lansing teenager is in critical condition after being shot today, and the people responsible are still out there somewhere.

The victim was found in the drivers seat of an SUV that crashed on Holmes Street in Lansing.

It was a scary scene for the people in that neighborhood, like Tiaria Ovalle, who came home with her 3-year-old son only to find caution tape and police everywhere.

"I was literally crying, and I wanted to go home," Ovalle said. “I asked if I could go check on my dogs, they wouldn't let me go check on my dogs.”

Ovalle's home was one of many blocked off by Lansing police around noon Monday. They made a perimeter around the area after an SUV crashed into a tree on the sidewalk in the neighborhood, and a shooting victim was found inside.

“Witnesses say a vehicle crashed, so as we made out the scene, we discovered that there actually was a wounded driver, a gun shot wound,” Lansing Police Department Officer Robert Merritt said.

Police say the victim is a 19-year-old male, and he's in critical condition, but he wasn't the only one in the car

“Witnesses have put that there was at least two people that did exit the vehicle,” Merritt said. “They’re wanted in questioning right now for a possible shooting inside the vehicle.”

As police search for the suspects, neighbors are worried about returning home

“It's gonna make me feel very uneasy,” Ovalle said.

Police are looking for two black men who were wearing dark hooded sweatshirts and baseball hats. One is about 30-years-old with a medium build; the other is older than 30 and stocky.
