LSD to Vote on Bus Privatization

A special board meeting will decide whether or not to privatize the Lansing School District's 71 bus fleet.

A vote at last week's meeting was pushed off after drivers showed up to protest the plan, raising questions over the plan's actual savings.

The district says outsourcing the buses to Dean Transportation through the Ingham Intermediate School District would save $5 million over the next five years.
