48 deadline put on hold while state appeals ruling.

The decision to make Detroit the largest U.S. city to file for bankruptcy protection was tough to make, but it was the right one, Snyder said Sunday, July 21, 2013, as he and Orr made the television talk show rounds. A judge has ruled that state officials have 48 hours to produce the names and resumes of final candidates for Detroit's emergency manager job.
Wayne County Circuit Judge Maria Oxholm also on Tuesday granted a stay of her ruling to give the state the chance to appeal.
The attorney general's office says it will seek an immediate motion to appeal from the state appeals court.
Union activist Robert Davis sued to have the information released.
Oxholm says candidate names aren't of a personal nature and there is a vested interest in knowing who applied for the job that went to bankruptcy attorney Kevyn Orr.
Oxholm also ruled Tuesday that emails and documents exchanged between members of Gov. Rick Snyder's administration while deliberating over candidates won't be released.
