Jackson National Life is turning the former Barnes & Noble building in downtown East Lansing into a new development and innovation center. The Grand River location will make it easier to tap into the knowledge and creativity of Michigan State University across the street.
It will be know as the Jackson Inspiration Center and will create a number of new part-time and full-time jobs.
East Lansing administrators expect it to provide a significant boost to the the local economy, further diversifying the businesses in downtown and significantly increasing the number of daytime customers in the area.
Work inside the 33,000-square-foot space has already begun and Jackson National Live plans to open the doors to the center by early fall.
