A state trooper has returned to work after recovering from injuries suffered when he was hit by a car during a traffic stop.
Michigan State Police said in a release Thursday that 27-year-old Drew Spencer was returning to work with no restrictions.
Spencer and his partner stopped a motorist for a traffic violation on Sept. 4 along Interstate 96 in Ingham County's LeRoy Township, about 20 miles east of Lansing.
As Spencer walked back to the patrol car, a 49-year-old man lost control of his Chevy Malibu, crossed highway lanes and slammed into him. Spencer was airlifted to the hospital.
The Malibu's driver was treated at a Lansing hospital and released
