The Ingham County Sheriff's Office is holding a forum Monday night to talk about opiate usage among high school students and young adults.

Earlier this month, students at Webberville High School attended an hour long program about the dangers of heroin. Law enforcement, school administration and individuals who have been directly impacted by heroin use shared their stories.

The sheriff's office says heroin plays a role in a majority of the criminal activity around the northeast portion of the county. The sheriff's office hopes to get the message across to parents too, about the larger role they need to play when it comes to recognizing drug use.

On December 17 at 7 PM, parents and community members are invited to attend a forum where the sheriff's office will discuss Opiate addiction and what to look for. The forum will take place at Webberville High School in Webberville.
