Lilian Cary is one of at least two people in Michigan who had died from a stroke caused by meningitis, according to MacDonald's Funeral Home in Howell.
Cary, 67, died on September 30th, about a month after she received a steroid injection for back pain at the Michigan Pain Specialists clinic in Brighton.
The state health department says there have been at least 20 confirmed cases of meningitis, including two deaths, in Michigan.
The state is expected to release new details this afternoon. We will have them during our evening broadcasts.
The outbreak has been linked to a steroid produced by a specialty pharmacy in Massachusetts.
The steroid has been recalled.
