The following organizations are working in Moore, Oklahoma and are taking donations if you're looking for a way to help:

The American Red Cross

The American Red Cross is working around the clock to help people in Oklahoma after Monday’s devastating tornadoes with shelters, food, water and supplies, and more workers, supplies and equipment are moving into the area today.

The Red Cross deployed almost 30 emergency response vehicles to distribute food and relief supplies and more are on alert. Two Southern Baptist Convention kitchens and kitchen support trailers will join the relief effort with the ability to serve tens of thousands of meals a day.

Those who would like to help people affected by disasters like tornadoes, floods and other crises can make a donation to American Red Cross Disaster Relief. People can donate by visiting www.redcross.org, calling 1-800-RED CROSS or texting the word REDCROSS to 90999 to make a $10 donation. These donations help provide food, shelter and emotional support to those affected by disasters. The $10 will be added to your monthly cell phone bill.

The Salvation Army

The Salvation Army's Emergency Disaster Services (EDS) is providing food, beverage, and spiritual support to survivors and first responders following the severe tornado activity in Moore, OK and surrounding impacted areas on May 20.

The Salvation Army is on the ground in Moore, OK, with multiple disaster response units (canteens) and personnel coordinating with Local and State Emergency Management to serve first responders and those affected by the tornado.

Donors are encouraged to give online at www.SalvationArmyUSA.org or by calling 1-800-SAL-ARMY (1-800-725-2769). You can also text the word "STORM" to 80888 to make a $10 donation through your mobile phone; to confirm your gift, respond with the word "Yes."*

Operation USA

Los Angeles-based international relief agency Operation USA announced today that it is providing emergency aid where needed to community-based health organizations across Oklahoma in the wake of a tornado that struck Moore, Oklahoma.

The massive tornado destroyed entire blocks of homes, two schools, and a medical center in the city of Moore, part of the Oklahoma City Metropolitan Area. The storm system still threatens surrounding regions in the Midwest.

Operation USA is readying essential material aid– emergency, shelter and cleaning supplies– to send to where it’s most needed. Any funds collected for the disaster will be spent in Oklahoma helping community health organizations and schools recover from damage sustained from the severe storm system.

Text AID to 50555 and donate $10 to Operation USA’s disaster relief efforts.
