LANSING, Mich. (AP) -- The Mid-Michigan Autism Association is holding a parent workshop on the new state autism insurance benefit.
The Wednesday evening workshop will be held at Community Mental Health in Lansing. The event is being presented by the Autism Alliance of Michigan, Behavior Analysis Association of Michigan and Lt. Gov. Brian Calley.
Calley and Gov. Rick Snyder pushed hard to win passage of a mandate for insurance coverage for autism treatment for children. Insurers are reimbursed through a $15 million autism coverage incentive fund.
Calley's daughter Reagan has been diagnosed with autism.
