"Part of being a leader is that you can't make everyone happy. But it's about what's right for Michiganders."

Gov. Rick Snyder

Governor Rick Snyder reacted to Senate Republicans in a press conference at the capitol, after they refused to even hold a vote on the Medicaid Expansion bill before taking their two-month summer vacation.

He cut-short his trade trip to Israel and flew back to Michigan last night to lobby them for a vote. He appears to have failed.

An emotional governor accused Republicans of a lack of leadership for worrying more about their primaries next year than the hundreds of thousands of people who would be covered by the expansion.... But instead have to resort to the emergency room for everything.

"But how are you going to feel if we do nothing and you walk in there and you see chair after chair of working poor people, hard-working people sitting in those chairs, knowing that's their health care system when we could have given them a better answer?"
