Feet pacing the side of the road. Dogs trying to pick up the scent of anything that will help police find the man accused of shooting at 22 cars along the I-96 corridor in Ingham, Shiawassee, Livingston and Oakland Counties.

"I've never seen an incident that would cover this type of geography," said Ingham County Sheriff Gene Wriggelsworth.

Wriggelsworth met with several local police agencies, Tuesday, as part of the Ingham-Shiawassee task force, a more localized part of the four-county task force assembled, Monday, in Wixom.

"We want to make sure that as we progress through this investigation that everyone is briefed on what this task force is doing and the Wixom task force," said Wriggelsworth. "What evidence we have. What evidence we don't have and where we want to proceed."

Among the local departments were Lansing, East Lansing and Michigan State University. MSU police helped sheriff's deputies as they searched for more evidence on M-52 in Webberville.

"Evidence is what it is. Some of it is better than others so we'll just have to sift it out," said Wriggelsworth.

New evidence found, Tuesday, by Oakland County Sheriff's Office investigators shows fragments discovered at seven vehicle shooting locations of the 22 can be traced to the same gun.

No one has been injured in these shootings and anyone with information is encouraged to call 1-800-SPEAK UP.
