A former chief of the Lansing police department died Tuesday. Charles Edward Reifsnyder was 85 years old.
According to his obituary, Reifsnyder was a member of the Lansing police department for 40 years. He retired as its chief in 1991.
Reifsnyder was also the grandfather of Olympic gold medalist Jordyn Wieber.
Services are planned for Friday at 10 a.m. at St. Mary Cathedral in Lansing.
