Certain people who lost their home to foreclosure have until Friday to file for a piece of a national settlement.
The deal covers foreclosures between January 1, 2008 and December 31, 2011--- with mortgages provided by Bank of America, Wells Fargo, JPMorgan Chase, Citi and Ally/GMAC.
The companies were found to have "robo-signed" foreclosure-related documents and committed other errors and abuses in their foreclosure processes.
Eligible homeowners can apply for payments up to $2,000.
Claims can be filed at www.nationalmortgagesettlement.com. You can also call 866-430-8358 between 8am and 6pm to talk to a settlement administrator or email administrator@nationalmortgagesettlement.com.
