LANSING - A house at Pine and Madison streets, north of downtown Lansing, is being called a complete loss after catching fire, Tuesday morning. The fire was called in just before 9 a.m. and was contained just before 10:30 a.m. Firefighters initially went inside the structure to try to put out the fire, but quickly had to move into a defensive mode because numerous items in the home made it too difficult to navigate through safely. Neighbors say they are not sure if anyone lives inside the home and there is no indication at this time that anyone was inside during the fire. The Lansing Fire Department is still determining the cause of the fire, but the department tells News 10 the house will be torn down to help put out any remaining hot spots.
