Tea party favorite Gary Glenn and two other Republicans have turned in nominating signatures for the U.S. Senate race, likely making it a five-way GOP August primary.
Glenn turned in 27,227 signatures Tuesday, the last day to file.
That was the most among Republicans hoping to take on Democratic incumbent Debbie Stabenow in November.
Ex-Kent County Judge Randall Hekman of Grand Rapids submitted 19,323 signatures and Roscommon businessman Peter Konetchy submitted 15,500 Tuesday.
Detroit charter schools executive Clark Durant of Grosse Pointe earlier submitted 24,407 signatures, ex-U.S. Rep. Pete Hoekstra of Holland more than 26,000, and Stabenow 30,000.
Three other announced GOP candidates didn't file and are out of the race.
Candidates had to submit at least 15,000 signatures, including 100 each from seven or more congressional districts.
